Why are some programmes not available on STV Player?

Programmes shown on live but not available to watch later: this will be because we don't hold the rights to show a particular programme or film. An example of this is Good Morning Britain (GMB) which although is available on the live stream and STV+1, it is not available on demand.

Programmes shown on other channels: While the main STV and ITV channels show many of the same programmes, those shown on other ITV channels e.g. ITV2 are not available on STV.

Box sets not showing on my app: Some sporting events and our STV Player exclusive shows use enhanced encryption (DRM) that isn't supported by all platforms. These programmes won't be available where a device or platform doesn't support DRM.

There are many platforms/devices that do support DRM including website, mobile apps (iOS and Android), Fire TV, Apple TV, YouView, Freeview Play, Virgin Media and Sky.

DRM content will also not be available to download (for STV Player+ users on iOS).
