# How old do you need to be to use STV Player?

You need to be 18 or over to be able to register for STV Player.

 

Parental Controls are available and restricts access to shows which display a [G rating symbol](https://support.stv.tv/support/what-is-a-guidance-warning?hsLang=en-gb) to protect anyone using your account who is under 18 from seeing any inappropriate content.
