Coronation Street - Sands

If you've been affected by the issues raised in this programme you can find details of organisations offering support below.

Sands is here to support anyone affected by pregnancy loss and the death of a baby to offer understanding and comfort. Every day, we work to improve the care, discover why babies are dying and reduce inequalities in healthcare.

At Sands, we understand the complex range of emotions there can be when a pregnancy is lost or a baby dies.

We know that everyone is affected differently and that there is no right or wrong way to feel. Each person needs different types of support and this can change over time. Some people may be happy to talk, others might take comfort from quietly reading about others' experiences, while some may prefer to meet face to face and share their experience.

Some of our channels, such as the free national helpline, email support, support chat and resources, are suitable for anyone who has been affected, including parents, other family members, friends, colleagues and health professionals. Other channels, especially our online spaces and local support groups, are best suited to those who have direct personal experience of pregnancy loss or the death of a baby, whether as someone who has been pregnant themselves, or a partner.

The team are available to speak to from 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 6pm to 9pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

The helpline team can also be contacted at helpline@sands.org.uk
