Coronavirus - Your rights

Working Families is the UK’s leading work-life balance organisation.  The charity helps working parents and carers and their employers find a better balance between responsibilities at home and work.  Our free Legal Helpline gives parents and carers advice on employment rights such as maternity and paternity leave, rights to time off in an emergency, and parental leave, as well as helping them to negotiate the flexible hours they want. We can also give basic advice on the benefits and tax credits that working parents can claim.  We also give advice on maternity discrimination and pregnancy discrimination.

Single Parents

www.singleparents.org.uk

SingleParents.org.uk is the parenting site by single parents for single parents. It is delivered by a dedicated team at Single Parent Action Network (SPAN) and by our volunteers. SingleParents.org.uk was born in 2008 and has supported thousands of parents, both women and men, through the hard times of separation, coping with divorce, going through the courts, domestic abuse, parenting, work and benefits and then on to rebuilding their lives.  SingleParents.org.uk brings together essential information, expert advice, interactive learning, multi-media content, links to other support organisations and news for anyone who is parenting alone.  We aim to be the first port of call for single parents online, providing information, support or signposting to additional services and is a lifeline to many who are parenting alone.

Budget & Debt Advice

Emergency Assistance
The Salvation Army has a long history of working with people who are vulnerable and marginalised across the world and offer very practical help, unconditional assistance and support regardless of race, religion, gender or sexuality, respecting the identity and choices of all those referred to them. Anyone can find themselves facing grief and despair. Family breakdown, unemployment, poverty, homelessness, and drug and alcohol dependency are just some of the reasons why people can lose everything they value, including their dignity. In the Salvation Army we don't judge or condemn. We just help. In the UK and Republic of Ireland there are more than 800 Salvation Army social service centres and churches (corps).  We run 120 drop-in centres offering support and help for people in need and serve 3,000,000 meals every year at community and residential centres.
